Loyola University Chicago dietetic interns participated in the Illinois Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Advocacy Day at the State Capital on April 10. They ask for support on legislation that improve nutrition standards for child care centers (HB 196) and improve access to telehealth services (SB 27) , including nutrition. Both of these will improve community health through better nutrition.
Dr. Joanne Kouba, Loyola faculty and Proviso East High School School-based Health Center dietician, led the student group. Dr. Kouba has been involved in the PP4H Proviso East Wellness committee.
